California Articles of Amendment
To change the legal name, management structure or share provisions in your formation documents, use the applicable California amendment filing for a $30 state fee; our preparation and filing service is $299 plus that state fee. California LLCs use LLC-2 or LLC-2-NA for a name-only change. Stock corporations use a Certificate of Amendment, including the applicable ARTS-AM form.

What to know before you file
LLC-2 / LLC-2-NA
LLC-2 amends Articles of Organization; LLC-2-NA is for a name-only amendment. The state fee is $30, separate from our $299 service fee, shipping and applicable tax.

Review the appropriate Certificate of Amendment (ARTS-AM) or Restated Articles and required approval. The SOS lists a $30 filing fee; select the form that fits the corporation and change.

Business addresses, officers, managers and agent details are generally updated through LLC-12 ($20 during the required filing period) or SI-550 ($25), rather than a $30 Articles amendment. An out-of-period LLC information update has no filing fee; use the proper filing for the change.
